Abstract

GUERRERO ELECALDE, Rafael  and  TARRAGO, Griselda. La certera espacialidad de los vínculos: Los Tagle Bracho entre la Montaña, Lima y el Río de la Plata (primera mitad del siglo XVIII). Prohistoria [online]. 2012, vol.18, pp.1-24. ISSN 1851-9504.

During the first half of the eighteenth century, several members of Tagle y Bracho family, from Cigüenza, in today’s Cantabria, developed important careers related to business and commerce, and made a considerably large fortune in different points of the Peruvian viceroyalty. This work explores some features of this complex process of settlement in America through the analysis of their space occupation strategies, their family policies as regards their community of origin and the dynamics of bond construction, and the tensions arisen over time

Keywords : Peruvian viceroyalty; Lima; Buenos Aires; Networks; Family; Business; Eighteenth century.
