Abstract

TARUSELLI, María Eugenia. “Why do they treat me like this? I do not want to go, I prefer not to go…” School experiences of student of Bolivian origin in Argentina. Runa [online]. 2020, vol.41, n.1, pp.211-227. ISSN 1851-9628.  http://dx.doi.org/10.34096/runa.v41i1.6267.

Although the school paradigm currently proposes to accept and respect cultural diversity, discrete situations, as well as explicit and violent ones of marginalization and segregation, continue to occur. This happens in a society that is still considered white and european and in which immigrants from Latin American countries are seen as lower racial groups. In this context, the present article propose to analyze school experiences of children and y Bolivian young people who assist rural schools in the Buenos Aires suburbs, in order to try to elucidate under what conditions they are. To this purpose, from an ethnographic perspective, data collected during the field research will be analyzed by taking up theoretical reflections from anthropology of education authors in intercultural contexts, making special reference in migrant populations.
