Abstract

GOMEZ, María Eugenia. Theoretical-methodological (and political) reflections on an ethnographic research in a socioeducational center with a closed regimen summary. Runa [online]. 2021, vol.42, n.2, pp.405-421.  Epub Aug 27, 2021. ISSN 1851-9628.  http://dx.doi.org/10.34096/runa.v42i2.6279.

This article is framed in an ethnographic research started at the end of 2015 (still in progress), carried out in a Socioeducational Center With a Closed Regimen, located in the City of Buenos Aires (Argentina). In it, I analyze, centrally, the processes that structure educational practices on a daily basis. In this writing, I will approach theoretical-methodological reflections related to the particular characteristics that my job placement - as a teacher and socio-educational operator - imprinted on the process of knowledge construction, in the same institutional field in which I develop my ethnographic practice. In the first place, I will refer to the ways in which different knowledge and the relationships that I established with different subjects in the framework of work experiences, shaped my presence and interactions in the field. Secondly, I will address methodological aspects related to my political position in the face of the processes under analysis, which, I propose, allow the analysis of broader socio-historical processes, linked to the transformations in public policies implemented in the field of minority in the middle of the 2000s.

Keywords : Ethnographic process; Institution of Penal Confinement; Theoretical-methodological problems; Implication; Sociohistorical processes.
