Abstract

PETRA, Adriana. La cuestión de los intelectuales en el comunismo argentino: Héctor P. Agosti en la encrucijada de 1956. Prismas [online]. 2015, vol.19, n.1, pp.111-132. ISSN 1852-0499.

In September 1956 the Communist Party of Argentina (PCA) held a meeting of intellectuals for the first time. This meeting was the culmination of a long series of arguments within the party, in the context of the crisis in the Argentinian intellectual field generated by the overthrow of the Peronist government and the revelations of the Twentieth Congress of the CPSU. This article aims to reconstruct the main lines of debate and discussion that Argentinian communists tested on their own role and function in party's strategy under a highly contentious political and cultural climate, and problematize, as well, the question of intellectuals within highly institutionalized political culture as communist. The Argentine Communist intellectuals experienced complex forms of party integration and ways of thinking about orthodoxy, like unionism counsel and sophisticated partisanship driven by Héctor P. Agosti.
