This paper aims to think over the scientific and technological conceptualization of "development" from epistemological principles and ethnographic experiences as a result of an anthropological research. This was framed in a doctorate project about the socio-territorial dynamic of southwest of the province of Buenos Aires (Argentina) conducted between 2010 and 2014, whose goal was to analyze the link between social imaginary of various social groups and their rhythms of life. Considering the results of the feldwork carried out with tourist operators and farmers, it is proposed to consider the development as temporality, to account for the different ways of conceiving and practicing. Also, the coexistence of multiple imaginary on development concept in the territory analyzed is discussed and it is emphasized that understanding their rhythmic allows to make tangible the cultural discontinuities of development.
