Abstract
AVILA, Juan David et al. NEW EVIDENCE OF LATE HOLOCENE SETTLEMENT IN THE CENTRAL PAMPEAN DUNEFIELDS: LAS LÁGRIMAS LAKE (SOUTHWESTERN SANTA FE PROVINCE). Relaciones [online]. 2022, vol.47, n.1, pp.41-50. ISSN 0325-2221. http://dx.doi.org/10.24215/18521479e031.
This article presents the research conducted in Las Lágrimas lake (SW Santa Fe), regarding the fieldwork carried out in November 2018. Human skeletal remains were found in the SW of the lagoon beach. The bioarchaeological record contains a minimum number of four adult individuals. A late radiocarbon date was obtained from bone collagen of one of the eroded burials (1450 ± 50 años AP), within the pre-Hispanic occupations of the sector. The relative abundance of pottery and the vessels completeness, as well as the presence of groundstone tools, can be re ¿lated to an intensive collection and storage of plant foods. The raw materials exploited for stone tool production are similar to other Central Pampean Dunefields sites, and presumably a similar source of supply was used.
