This paper approachs the place of the intellectual interventions in the actual political processes in Latin America, in relation with the  condition of the language, the culture of memory, the Human Rights and the democracy. These different dimensions of the intellectual work are not independent but overlapped. Finally, the text refers about the University as an ideas’ lab, in relation to the described processes.
