Abstract

The article presents the debate on security policies within the tension between violence and law. In this way, characterized the general outlines approach to understanding security policies in general, to discuss from there Cordoba´s policy. We try to think over the question considering the limitations not only in terms of results, but also analyzing its commitment to democracy on the local context of security. This involves discussing the security policy of the province of Cordoba in light of the tensions that promotes democratic security thinking, tensions linked to the use of state violence in conflict management, as well as put in discussion the ways in which academic issue is being addressed. Current knowledge of the subject in our province is particularly complicated by the lack of access to public information, but also for the early development of the discussion. This work is an attempt to read critically and raise some discussions with the state of the local discussion, recovering broader discussions on theoretical and sociopolitical contexts
