Abstract

CORDOBA, Maria Liliana. Democratización mediática y derecho a la comunicación: los entornos de hoy. Estud. - Cent. Estud. Av., Univ. Nac. Córdoba [online]. 2013, n.30, pp.69-85. ISSN 1852-1568.

The issue of citizenship is central to the themes and debates of contemporary social science. In communication studies, differents transformations have questioned the legal tradition which addressed the relationship between the media and the citizenship. This will open a complex scenario where the demand for democratization media and right to communicate became a specific and relevant claim. The purpose of this paper is to analyze different perspectives for this issue, and propose a new approach to what is known as the «citizenization » of communication problems. We argue that all these processes explicit an inherent contradiction that characterizes mediatized societies: the contradiction between the constitution and actuation of the «citizenship » and the mediatization.

Keywords : Citizenship; media; right to communicate; democratization.
