In thisarticle we analyzet he be havior of the electorate and strategies of political leaders in the province of Salta to resolve the tension that occurswithin the structure of oligarchic power, force dextension of politicalrights in a societyconceived as ‘naturally’ unequal. Simultaneouslywewant to giveanaccount of the implications that hadtherise to government yrigoyenista radicalism and Federal Intervention 1918, which made explicit challenges to entrenched form of ‘making’ and ‘think’ the electoral competition in the local social space. We wonder to what extent the ancient principles of unanimity and consent that accompanied the local political game will be challenged in the new scenario posed by the emergence of national policy and the extension of voting rights, considered rights of individuals against a culture Local policy that had tried to vote as a corporate and unanimous gesture.
