Abstract

CERRUTI, Pedro. Appropriations of the past and closures of memory in the discourses on "insecurity" during the post-dictatorship Argentina. Sociohistórica [online]. 2015, n.36, pp.00-00. ISSN 1852-1606.

This paper studies the discourses of social violence that in post-dictatorship Argentina have been organized around "insecurity" as a public-political problem, in order to analyze the relationships they establish with the dictatorial past. To do this, I consider from a genealogical perspective three moments in the construction of "insecurity": the 1989 "lootings", the second presidency of Menem from 1995 to 1999 and the "Blumberg Crusade" in 2004. This analysis allows to show the ways in which these discourses involved interventions in the memory of the dictatorial past that, on the one hand, were oriented in the sense of producing a closure of the remembering of state terrorism; and, on the other, reconverted key elements of the discourses about violence inherent to the repressive practices in the public life of democratic Argentina
