This article aims to reconstruct the process of reactivation that involved the democratic reconstruction of the Partido Justicialista and the Unión Cívica Radical, the main political forces in the province of Chaco, based on the analysis of the 1983 electoral campaign. In particular we analyzed the newspapers El Territorio and Norte considering the opportunities that the electoral process allowed to be evidenced in the local press. This study address the issue following the socio-historical approach in two axes: what do they say and what do the political actors in this scenario, from the pages of the newspapers and interviews with activists. In this way we gave an account of the shared militant universe, the actions inside and outside the spaces to organize militant work and to assure the repositioning of the political actors in a complex and uncertain moment of local and national political history.
