Since 1919 the argentine bourgeoisie responded to the workers' struggles with different mechanisms of social containment, where repression played a prominent role. The present work tries to explain the reasons, the internal conjunctures in the period and, of course, the repressive events themselves. The objective is to reconstruct the facts, present the social actors and demonstrate the agreement between the government and employers to stifle labor demands, destroy or limit union organizations and subject workers to the domination of capital.

Our analysis focused on the province of Entre Ríos, a privileged scene of the repressive acts. To offer a faithful reconstruction of the facts, we have used a large number of sources of various types, such as workers' and commercial presses, as well as sources from the Ministry of the Interior of the Nation.
