Abstract

SERRANO, Mario; FLORES, Carlos; PERALTA, Sandino  and  MARTINEZ, Darcy. Efectos de la retroalimentación para las respuestas correctas o incorrectas en igualación de la muestra de segundo orden. Rev Arg Cs Comp. [online]. 2017, vol.9, n.3. ISSN 1852-4206.

Effects of feedback for correct or incorrect responses in second-order matching-to-sample. Four groups of college students were exposed to a second-order matching-to-sample task under color and shape similarity relations, as well as to various transfer tests in which new stimuli, new pertinent matching modalities and a new matching relation were presented. During training, between groups both correct and incorrect matching responses produced feedback, only incorrect matching responses produced feedback, only correct matching responses produced feedback, or neither matching response produced feedback. Although performance was enhanced from the pretest to the tests in most cases, solely feedback for only incorrect matching responses produced the transfer of performance to the new matching relation. These results are comparatively discussed in relation to those observed in previous experiments, highlighting the functional role of feedback omission.

Keywords : conditional discrimination; partial feedback; transfer; referential substitution; humans.
