Abstract

AZZARA, Sergio; GRINHAUZ, Aldana Sol  and  AZZOLLINI, Susana. Transfer actions and training in First Psychological Aid (FPA) to organizations involved in rescue actions in emergencies and catastrophes: Relationship between effectiveness and decision style. Rev Arg Cs Comp. [online]. 2019, vol.11, n.2, pp.1-9.  Epub June 05, 2019. ISSN 1852-4206.

The work exposes the results of a training in First Psychological Aid, which was performed in order to train the volunteers belonging to organizations responsible for the response in catastrophes. Likewise, the relationship between the tendency to make decisions and effectiveness was analyzed. Five trainings were carried out - 115 volunteers - in different institutions belonging to the province of Buenos Aires, Argentine Republic. The effect of the training on the decision-making effectivity of the volunteers was evaluated through the application of a software. The comparison of the trained group with another one without training evidenced the effectiveness of the training. An inverse association has been found between the individual trend to take affective decisions and effectiveness. Finally, we have come to the conclusion that training improves effectiveness, while the tendency to take urgent affective decisions impacts negatively on this dependent variable.

Keywords : first psychological aid; training; decision style; effectiveness.
