Abstract

ENRIQUEZ, Corina Rodríguez. Análisis económico para la equidad: los aportes de la economía feminista. SaberEs [online]. 2010, vol.2, n.1, pp.00-00. ISSN 1852-4418.

The appearance of a specific field of study within Economics, called Feminist Economics, is the consequence of the crossroad between, theoretical developments focused on equity issues, mostly on women's subordination, on one side, and the political movement that seeks an advancement for women, on the other side. Economics and Feminism met to develop concepts, analytical and research frameworks, that together provides a greater explanatory power for Economics, as well as provides evidence, tools and knowledge to Feminism. In this paper, I present an introduction to Feminist Economics, focusing in the following issues: i) the Feminist Economics critics to main principles of Neoclassical Economics; ii) the introduction of the reproductive dimension to the dynamics of the economic system, through broadening the circular flow of income; iii) the specific gender dimensions of discrimination in the labour market, and their economic consequences; iv) gender dimension of economic policy analysis.

Keywords : Gender; Reproduction; Discrimination.
