Abstract
V. PURICELLI, Verónica and RODRIGUEZ ARDAYA, Sofía. Women, cooperatives and social economy: An ethnographic analysis of urban recovery operators in the área metropolitana de Buenos Aires, Argentina (AMBA) with a gender perspective. SaberEs [online]. 2018, vol.10, n.1, pp.01-18. ISSN 1852-4418.
The present work arises from two ongoing ethnographic research projects, which approach from different perspectives the way in which the gender relations are expressed and constructed between the various social actors working in cooperatives of urban recuperators in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires, Argentina (AMBA). The first project takes place in the Urban Recoverers Cooperative Organization in Chacarita. If analyzes the Environmental Promoters Program implemented by the Government of the City of Buenos Aires since the year 2014, which is directed specifically at Women who have dedicated themselves to the recovery of recyclable materials. The second is carried out in the cooperative of urban recuperators NuevaMente located in Morón since 2009. In this one, an attempt is made to identify and analyze how the gender relations are expressed in the framework of a cooperative of recuperators, realizing the daily practices and using the biographical approach as a way of approaching the labor trajectories of the women who work on it. Both investigations focus on identifying and analyzing the daily experiences of women belonging to popular sectors as workers in recycling cooperatives. From the common questions that have arisen in the respective fields, it is tried to inquire about the different ways in which the gender relations are expressed and constructed.
