Abstract

SUDEN, Clarisa Ayelén. Paisaje cultural patrimonializado: el caso del Parque General Ortega, Maipú, Mendoza. Rev. Univ. geogr. [online]. 2023, vol.32, n.1, pp.13-37. ISSN 1852-4265.  http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.52292/j.rug.2022.31.1.0033.0050.

Heritage is presented as a complex and polysemic concept, approached as a multidisciplinary object of study and rescued from different social sectors. This is translated into practice through different perspectives of approach and analysis. One of them, the integral one, considers heritage in its territorial dimension, in which the cultural landscape is shown as a representative concept. The purpose of this article, framed in a doctoral thesis in progress, is to apply this perspective to the case of General Ortega Park, Maipu, Mendoza, a green space legitimized as a provincial heritage site by the government in 2012, but currently still considered as private property. This has resulted in the involvement of other social actors in search of its rescue and public utility. The methodological design combines qualitative and quantitative aspects linking the results of each stage. From the analysis of the information obtained, theoretical contributions emerge, including the consideration of Parque Ortega as a heritage cultural landscape. On the other hand, there are explicit components and others present in the scientific and socio-cultural imaginary that, although they are represented in the official information, they are not actually fulfilled. Finally, ideas and reflections to be addressed in further research are put forward.
