In this paper, we review the sociological work of Darío Canton, an Argentinean researcher who made valuable contributions to Argentinean sociology. His work focuses on two fields of study: studies of national "leaderships" and those linked to the social bases of the vote. We systematize both axes and put them about each other to analyze his main theoretical discussions, based on empirical data produced over decades.
