Abstract

BAZAN, Ariane  and  DETANDT, Sandrine. On what is inscribed and not erased. Short physiology of repression and enjoyment. Subj. procesos cogn. [online]. 2013, vol.17, n.1, pp.42-69. ISSN 1852-7310.

The present work focuses on the relationship existing between psychoanalysis and neurosciences. The article starts referring to the concepts of sensation and perception as well as to the concept of motor activation resulting from the ensuing information, to present a perspective of the concepts of representation and repression. Then, a model for the drive is proposed, which includes Freud’s and Lacan’s thought. After that, the physiological systems underlying pleasure and enjoyment in this model are examined. The authors sustain that language provides a precise form to enjoyment insofar as it makes tracing personal history inscriptions possible and that it is that precise form which makes retracing that history sometimes possible. As a conclusion, a scenario to illustrate this premise is described.

Keywords : Psychoanalysis; Peurosciences; Drive; Repression; Pleasure; Enjoyment; Language.
