Abstract

PINTO JUNIOR, Antonio Augusto  and  DE LA PLATA CURY TARDIVO, Leila Salomão. Study of the psychodynamic functioning of sexual offenders by means of the desiderative questionnaire. Subj. procesos cogn. [online]. 2015, vol.19, n.2, pp.187-207. ISSN 1852-7310.

The present article describes the study of the psychodynamic functioning of sexual offenders of children and adolescents, by means of the Desiderative Questionnaire. The sample consisted of 30 men serving time in a prison for sexual abuse, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. Data was analysed according to the categories: adjustment to instructions, reaction time, dissociation, rationalization, relational perspective of the response, projective identification, and domain sequence. The results show that, in general, sexual offenders don’t present a typical psychopathological structure. Besides, results proved that for them the most valued attributes are freedom and communication (deprivation felt in the correctional facility). Aggressiveness, impulsivity and the possibility of damaging or harming somebody are rejected attributes or attributes they aim to discard. A strong tendency to manifest narcissistic attitudes which don’t include and don’t consider the other as a subject was verified.

Keywords : Child sexual abuse; Sexual offenders; Psychological evaluation; Desiderative Questionnaire.
