Abstract

BRIZUELA, M.M.; BURGHARDT, A.D.; TANONI, D.  and  PALACIOS, R.A.. Study of the morphological variation in three procedences of Prosopis flexuosa, and its manifestation in culture under uniform conditions. Multequina [online]. 2000, vol.9, n.1, pp.7-15. ISSN 1852-7329.

In this paper, we carried out a comparison of three provenances of Prosopis flexuosa. Collections were made in the provinces of Mendoza, Catamarca and San Juan Phenotypic characteristics of the herbarium material were analyzed and numerical analysis were carried out. These analysis allowed to conclude that there is a clear intraspecific variation. Afterwards, we conducted a trial test under uniform conditions with individuals coming from the three provinces. We wanted to find out if the intraspecific variation was caused by environmental conditions or an inheritable component. The results indicate that differences would be due to genetic variation. The accession from Mendoza shows the greatest differences in the group analyzed.
