Abstract

SABATTINI, R. A; MUZZACHIODI, N.  and  DORSCH, A. F.. Growth evaluation of Prosopis spp. in a native forest in the centernorth of Entre Ríos province. Multequina [online]. 2000, vol.9, n.1, pp.111-118. ISSN 1852-7329.

The present work had as objective to evaluate the growth for diametrical classes of Prosopis nigra and P. affinis in subjected lots to a desarbustado treatment and pruning of cleaning of the arboreal stratum. The work was carried out among December from 1998 to January of 2000 in a mount located in Yeso Oeste (Federal, Entre Ríos), characterized as «open low mount» (Sabattini et al., 1999 b), in which 2 treatments of 4 were located there is each one: T1 (control, without trying) and T2 (treaty with shrub control and pruning of cleaning of trees). The arboreal density was measured in 5 circular parcels of 15 m of radio, and dendrometers were placed to measure the growth, being divided to the group of individuals of Prosopis in 4 diametrical classes. The density was of 216 and 142 ind./ha for algarrobo negro and for Ñandubay of 147 and 184 ind./ha for T1 and T2, respectively. For algarrobo negro in the T1 the class III was that of more growth (0,007 cm2/ind.). In the T2 the class II grew 0,012 cm2/ind. (61,9%). In the ñandubay population, the T1 showed bigger annual growth in the class I (0,002 cm2/ind.), while in T2, the class IV was increased in 0,001 cm2/ind. It was concluded that the population's of algarrobo negro growth was bigger than ñandubay, independently of the considered treatment.
