Abstract
PASSERA, C.B.; DALMASSO, A.D. and DAGATA, S.L.. Ecological restoration of Neltuma forests with two native species. Results after 33 years of planting. Multequina [online]. 2022, vol.31, n.2, pp.44-51. ISSN 1852-7329.
Open forests of Neltuma in important part of northwestern of Mendoza province are actually under relevant condition of degradation. These forests provide ecosystems services such as wood, habitat for different species and climate regulation, amongst others; therefore, their restoration is fundamental. The objective was to evaluate a restoration test carried out with N. flexuosa and N. chilensis after 33 years of their planting. Survival and growth of introduced trees were assessed, and floristic diversity between restored and degraded areas was contrasted. A survival rate of 42.9 % was reached in introduced trees, with N. flexuosa being the most suitable species for restoring degraded native forests.
