Abstract

ABADI, F.. El concepto de crítica de arte en la obra temprana de Walter Benjamín. Rev. latinoam. filos. [online]. 2009, vol.35, n.1, pp.113-144. ISSN 1852-7353.

This paper tracks Walter Benjamin' s conception of art criticism as it appears in his early work, discussing with the readings that emphasize the continuities among the most important texts of that period and showing, instead, the discontinuities. We deal with the fluctuations of his thought concerning several problems, as the justification of the appriopriateness of art criticism in relation to its object, the kind of connection between art works and conceptual thought and the clarification of the foundations of the historical character of the art works. The hypothesis proposed is that his conception of knowledge as redeeming guides the changes of the concept of criticism.

Keywords : Art criticism; Art work; Knowledge; Redemption.
