Abstract

ANTONELLI, MARCELO. Political Reasons for the Deleuzian Distinction between Becoming and History. Rev. latinoam. filos. [online]. 2020, vol.46, n.2, pp.8-25. ISSN 1852-7353.  http://dx.doi.org/10.36446/rlf2020238.

The concept of becoming occupies an important place in the work of Deleuze. After his appearance in Nietzsche and Philosophy, he gains prominence in Logic of Sense and becomes distinguished from history in Dialogues in the framework of an antihistoricist turn. According to our hypothesis, on the basis of this separation are ontological and political reasons: the former refer to the conception of the event, while the latter are explained by the crisis of the left and the appearance of the new philosophers in the French intellectual field of the mid-70s. Our objective is to investígate the political reasons for this key conceptual differentiation that was maintained until the end of the Deleuzian production.

Keywords : French left; antitotalitarism; revolution; event; new philosophers.
