Abstract

ROSSI, LUIS A.. The “Return to History” and the Pólis in Heidegger’s Lecture Course The Essence ofTruth (1931-1932). Rev. latinoam. filos. [online]. 2021, vol.47, n.2, pp.242-264. ISSN 1852-7353.  http://dx.doi.org/10.36446/rlf2021210.

The article aims to show that Heidegger’s interest in “polis” as a concept is linked to a reformulation of the problem of intersubjectivity presented in Being and Time. We expose the relationship between the existential “being one with another” (Miteinandersein) and “polis”, to show that with this concept Heidegger designates the authentic community mentioned in § 74 of Being and Time, which implies that the thematic linked to the polis had political meaning in his thought as early as 1931. The hypothesis is that his use of polis as a concept is associated in Heidegger’s thinking with a political radicalization towards vólkisch nationalism.

Keywords : nationalism; community; violence; Plato; Stefan George.
