Abstract

RIOS, RUBÉN H.. Titanic Eschatology and Technological Apocalypse: The Drift of Éschaton in the Technification of the World. Rev. latinoam. filos. [online]. 2023, vol.49, n.1, pp.1-10. ISSN 1852-7353.  http://dx.doi.org/10.36446/rlf2023357.

This article investigates, as a guiding thread, the transformations of the notion of éschaton in the Jewish and Christian apocalyptic from the point of view of the theology of technology, in addition to its transition to Günther Anders’ philosophy of technology. The purpose of this is to show how, with exceptions and variations, the relationship between eschatology and apocalypse is doubly deactivated, both in Christianity and in technological modernity, to continue as a hiatus that inherits in a complex and utopian way, and already completely secularized, transhumanist program of technological enhancement of human biology.

Keywords : philosophy of technology; apocalyptic; spiritualization; cosmism; end of history; promethean unevenness; transhumanism.
