Abstract

LYTHGOE, ESTEBAN. Autobiografía e identidad narrativa en Paul Ricoeur. Rev. latinoam. filos. [online]. 2023, vol.49, n.1, pp.41-50. ISSN 1852-7353.  http://dx.doi.org/10.36446/rlf2023342.

In this paper we will study autobiography’s function in Time and Narrative. We will try to understand the reasons why this literary genre is not so relevant in Ricoeur’s work. Regarding its relationship with narrative identity, we will argue that, despite what might be supposed, narrative identity is a derivation of the analysis of autobiography and not the other way around. Having established this link, our second step will be to define the type of relation that literary fictions and life stories have in narrative identity.

Keywords : time; fiction; history; literary fictions; life histories.
