Abstract

GALLERO, María Cecilia. Family agro-industries in Misiones: German-Brazilian brick factories and cassava starch production (1919-2009). Poblac. soc. [online]. 2013, vol.20, n.1, pp.41-75. ISSN 1852-8562.

Although their initial basic strategy was familyself-sufficiency through small farms exploitation, from the early 1900s they implemented the industrialization of raw material or primary products that were available in their own lands. This research presents case studies that analyze the diversified nature of these settlers'strategies and describes brick factories and cassava starch production processes.
