Abstract

MORRIS, María Belén. Union revitalization in Argentina (2003-2015): dimensions and indicators for its conceptualization. Poblac. soc. [online]. 2017, vol.24, n.2, pp.195-226. ISSN 1852-8562.

One of the concepts used to explain the unions’ action between 2003 and 2013 has been ‘union revitalization’. In this work we will inquire into the meaning and limits of two indicators used to describe the ‘union revitalization’ process: collective bargaining, and labor conflict. We will conclude that though the indicators reveal different sides of the phenomenon they don’t show important aspects of the trade unionism dynamics nor do they express the economic and political action of central unions.

Keywords : Union revitalization; Collective bargaining; Labor conflict; Political dimensions.
