Abstract

BORRAS RAMOS, Víctor. Comparación de perfiles de pobreza de ingresos y de necesidades básicas en Uruguay 2019 utilizando análisis de segmentación. Poblac. soc. [online]. 2023, vol.30, n.2, pp.1-33. ISSN 0328-3445.  http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.19137/pys-2023-300201.

This article compares income poverty and Unsatisfied Basic Needs profiles in Uruguay for the year 2019. A segmentation analysis is conducted to divide the population into internally homogeneous groups in terms of both types of poverty. The main findings reveal that the groups with the highest income poverty and unsatisfied basic needs levels reside in households with children, where adults have lower educational achievements. Additionally, informality in housing tenure is a distinctive characteristic among groups with a high incidence of unsatisfied basic needs.

Keywords : poverty profile; income poverty; unsatisfied basic needs; segmentation analysis; Uruguay.
