Abstract

FARJI, Anahí. La ley de los cuerpos: Análisis de dos decisiones judiciales en torno al "cambio de sexo" (Argentina, 1966 - 1974). Mora (B. Aires) [online]. 2017, vol.23, n.1, pp.76-91. ISSN 1853-001X.

This paper explores the pioneer's discourses produced by the Argentine judicial about travestism and transexuality. Two judicial decisions produced between the 1960's and 1970s are analyzed. The first one refers to an accusation to a surgeon who had taken part in a clandestine "sex change" surgery. The second one corresponds to a request for a judicial petition in order to allow the development of a similar procedure. Through the technique of qualitative content analysis, the mechanical regulation of bodies are identified and analyzed. We argue that those arguments take part of broader strategies for regulation of bodies and the organization of the public space since the creation of the Argentine state.

Keywords : Judicial discourse; corporeality; transvestism; transexuality; transgenderism.
