In 2019, the tribute cycle called “Pioneers: the female scientists of the Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales” began as a new way of making notorious the role of women in science. This cycle, carried out by women of the Museum, seeks to recognize and honor the first women dedicated to scientific activities at the Institution. This fourth edition (2022), paid tribute to three brilliant professionals who developed an important role in ichthyology: the scientists Elvira Mariana Siccardi and Liliana Braga and the illustrator Elena Mouchet. These three women have dedicated their scientific careers to research the Neotropical and Southwestern Atlantic Ocean fishes. Here, we review their biography, listed the publications of Elvira Siccardi and Liliana Braga and unpublished scientific illustrations of Elena Mouchet are included.
