Abstract

ARAUJO, Emiliano et al. Building in La Arboleda: project on social assessment and use of archaeological patrimony. Zaranda ideas [online]. 2014, vol.10, pp.65-74. ISSN 1853-1296.

Archaeological materials are cultural properties which constitute one of the central elements of the stock of our cultural heritage. Those offer us information about our past, propitiating reflexive processes as well, that stimulate the strengthening of collective identities. It starts from the premise that the recovery, conservation and appreciation of archaeological objets demands what Iraida Vargas called community participation, incorporating the community in the problematization of archaeological patrimony. Therefore, this paper focuses on how it is perceived and used the archaeological patrimony by a rural community, in this case La Arboleda, located in the Department of Tupungato, Mendoza-Argentine.

Keywords : Cultural heritage; Archeology; Community involvement; Knowledge dialogue; Identity.
