Abstract

TOMASSINI, Hernán  and  WEIMANN, Javier. EARTHENWARE MATERIALS ANALYSIS FROM THE BOLICHE LUCANERA SITE (GENERAL DANIEL CERRI, DEPARTMENT OF BAHIA BLANCA). Zaranda ideas [online]. 2020, vol.18, n.2, pp.40-58. ISSN 1853-1296.

Boliche Lucanera site is located in General Daniel Cerri (department of Bahía Blanca, Buenos Aires Province). It was discovered in the courtyard of a house used as a store for the sale of beverages from the end of the 19th century until the middle of the 20th century. Industrial materials such as earthenware, glass, ceramics, metal and archaeofaunal remains were recovered in the fieldwork. From the technological, morphological and functional analysis performed on the earthenware, the presence of the whiteware and pearlware types was identified, as well as different decorative variants. According to the seals and brands, the material comes mainly from Holland, France and England. This allowed us to observe, in the framework of a process of modernization of the rural world, new food and consumption patterns of the Bahian society from the second half of the 19th century.
