Abstract

BARRIERA, Darío G. Instituciones, justicias de proximidad y derecho local en un contexto reformista: designación y regulación de "jueces de campo" en Santa Fe (Gobernación-Intendencia de Buenos Aires) a fines del siglo XVIII. Rev. hist. derecho [online]. 2012, n.44, pp.1-28. ISSN 1853-1784.

In the late eighteenth century Spanish American cities are reexamining the problem of governance of their rural lands. They used a new political language and called for the implementation of specific figures (jueces comisionados y jueces pedáneos) to complement the work of the mayors of the brotherhood. These figures were not included in the "Real Ordenanza de Intendentes". This paper provides an overview of the emergence of low rural magistrates in Santa Fe during the "intendential" period and identifies some of their specificities and differences.

Keywords : Bourbon reforms; Jurisdiction; Rural judges; Rural justice; Santa Fe.
