Abstract

HAIDAR, Victoria; BERROS, María Valeria  and  LEVRAND, Norma. Hacia una historia de la cuestión ambiental en América Latina: un análisis de los aportes de Guillermo Cano. Rev. hist. derecho [online]. 2015, n.50. ISSN 1853-1784.

This article explores the contributions that the jurist, politician, diplomat, consultant of international organizations and "father" of environmental law in Argentina , Guillermo Cano, conducted between 1968 and 1982, to the problematization of environmental issue. Through the analysis of a corpus of documents, including books, scholarly articles, technical reports, opinion pieces, etc., this work rebuilt the ways the author addressed environmental issues and imagined their regulation. The analysis unfolds around three axes: his enrollment in global and regional intellectual and political networks; the particularity of the "legal" approach of this theme and the positions that Cano assumed in disputes that environmental issue had generated between industrialized and developing countries.

Keywords : Environmental Issue - Latin America - History - Environmental Law.
