Abstract

AYROLO, Valentina. Towards the construction of the Provinces: ties and obligations of People to People Córdoba and La Rioja 1815-1824. Rev. hist. derecho [online]. 2016, n.52, pp.1-30. ISSN 1853-1784.

The purpose of this article is to reflect and analyze, taking into account the cases of Córdoba and La Rioja, the construction process of the Provinces during the Independence . With this purpose in mind, the circumstances of 1815-1816 are presented as a chain of independences that generated favorable conditions for the emergence of independent sovereignties, in the second decade of the nineteenth century. These systems were based on towns, which consisted in cities as small republics, and that will be transformed into Provinces -that is to say sovereign political bodies that sought to enhance its internal functioning- thanks to the adequacy of its bureaucratic and administrative structures into the liberal political trends of the time. We hold that the Provinces that will go through most of the nineteenth century, will just settle on in 1824 when the Constituent Congress meet in Buenos Aires.

Keywords : Provinces; Sovereignty; Independence; Republic.
