Abstract

SEDEILLAN, Gisela. Practical solutions to speed up the second instance justice service in the province of Buenos Aires(Law nº 3560 of 1914) *. Rev. hist. derecho [online]. 2020, n.59, pp.79-105. ISSN 1853-1784.

This work explores the reasons that led to the enactment in the province of Buenos Aires of Law Nº 3560 in 1914that modified the functioning of Appeal Courts. The 1914 reform is part of a general framework of concern for speeding up judicial processes, for which there was no precedent. For this reason, we will present, from a historical perspective, the alternatives that were evaluated in the political arena to improve the service of justice in the second instance. In addition, we will provide a first insight into the impact the law had in practice in its early years.

Keywords : Appeal Courts; Criminal justice; Province of Buenos Aires; Law Nª 3560.
