Is there Legislative oversight in Argentina? This paper aims to explore the general conditions that might activate the legislative oversight of the Executive Branch and its bureaucracies. Therefore, the political career of 331 Legislators, who were part of 15 oversight committees between 2001 y 2013, was studied. The recruitment patters, the political path and their ambition were analyzed; and it was found that some particularities of their political career might work as a disincentive to the control task, due to their low expertise as politicians and their little autonomy.
