Abstract

ROMERO, GUILLERMO. Religious Actors in Social Policies in Argentina in the XXI Century. The Historical Mutations of a ‘Subsidiary’ Logic. Revista SAAP [online]. 2020, vol.14, n.1, pp.61-70. ISSN 1853-1970.  http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.46468/rsaap.14.1.n2.

The article analyzes the participation of actors and organizations with a religious background in social policies in Argentina in the 21st Century. In order to understand the configuration of certain logics that enable such prominence in contemporary processes, we start from a brief historicization that allowed us to visualize «subsidiary» forms of action that have a long tradition in the country. Subsequently, and in order to make intelligible the participation of religious actors in the area of social policies at present, the work is concentrated in a limited set of indicators: the definition of social policies; the implementation of poverty assistance policies; the management of policies to promote productive ventures; and the allocation of state economic resources to institutions with religious substrate in the management of social policies.

Keywords : secularism; social policies; subsidiary; secularization; religión.
