Abstract

OLALLA, Marcos. The serene discipline of weapons. Rubén Calderón Bouchet, a catholic traditionalist in Mikael Magazine (1973-1983). Cuyo-anu. filos. argent. am. [online]. 2023, vol.40, n.1, pp.207-234.  Epub Sep 18, 2023. ISSN 1853-3175.

Between 1973 and 1983, Mikael magazine was published as a tool for spreading ideas by the Diocesan Seminary of the Argentine city of Paraná, in Entre Ríos province. It was a publication that, under the auspices of the Archbishop and military chaplain Monsignor Adolfo Tortolo, gathered the most important intellectuals of the argentine catholic fundamentalism of that time. Among them, one of its most prolific collaborators was Rubén Calderón Bouchet (1918-2012). In this work, we analyze his participation in the magazine, and identify a series of categories, topics and tropes of his philosophical-political discourse. Also, we review a commonplace of some interpretations coming from the hispanic-catholic traditionalism that maintain that Calderón Bouchet stayed away from the publication's vigorous defense of the 1976-1983 Argentine dictatorship.

Keywords : Rubén Calderón Bouchet; Mikael; catholic traditionalism; fundamentalism; Dictatorship.
