Abstract

OLMOS, Carlos. Angel Cappelletti (1927-1995), biography of an anarchist philosopher. Cuyo-anu. filos. argent. am. [online]. 2023, vol.40, n.1, pp.235-288.  Epub Sep 18, 2023. ISSN 1853-3175.

The work of the Argentine anarchist philosopher Angel José Cappelletti (1927-1995) has been approached only by partial studies. They also abound in biographical inaccuracies, and do not deepen the identification with Cappelletti's anarchism. On the one hand, the academic milieu related to ancient or medieval philosophy knows him for this type of productions, on the other hand, the scholars of anarchism for the hundreds of articles he has dedicated to the subject. Cappelletti's work is beginning to be rediscovered and read more seriously, although it is in a germinal stage of dissemination. The novelty and merit of Angel Cappelletti's work is to have made a philosophical interpretation with libertarian bases, in a continent and region crossed by turbulent social processes. In this sense, his work is not only philosophical, but encompasses history, essayism, translation, poetry and testimonial, which awaits to be deepened to determine its place in Latin American thought.

Keywords : anarchism; argentine philosophy; exile; Venezuela.
