This article aims to chart a path of the main contributions of the gender perspective for understanding science, technology and innovation (STI). The inclusion of this perspective within the STS field, which occurred in recent decades, has enriched the understanding of the multiple relationships between science-technology-innovation and contemporary subjectivities. The purpose of this presentation is to bring to the discipline of design a model of analysis that would go further with reflective studies -as a critical epistemological process- about the dynamics of production, dissemination and use of knowledge of design. This suggests possible methodological approaches and open questions are formulated that would enable future dialogues between gender-STI relationship and the study of design.
