Abstract

Based on an observation on the current scene starring Latin America, in contrast to its past, the article tries to explain the significance reached by social imaginaries in the construction of cultural identity, and how these imaginary were violated by the intervention of foreign models. Likewise, the approach reveals the derivations of indivisible link between media and social images that resonate in the projection of archetypes and stories of possible worlds for the region.
