The text presents the most relevant features of interactive installations: the place of the inter-actor and its contribution to the final shape, the "authorship" and the operation of the artistic work, the possible levels of interaction, the building of those data systems that get it to life, and the different ways of public participation in terms of technological options, ranging from the playful to the remote actions proposals.
