This article analyzes the processes of literary linguistic matter transformation in cinematographic discourse, focusing in one particular case: the book by Lionel Shriver, We need to talk about Kevin,and Lynne Ramsay´s film version. In the frst place, I am interested in the transformations of linguistic matter that take place throughout the intersemiotic translation process. In the second place, I share some refections about the disputes on conceptions about schools both in the book and in the film, considered in terms of the political.
