This work is the result of a study carried out in the Programa de Pós-graduação em Comunicação da Universidade Municipal de São Caetano do Sul (USCS) in Brazil, whose objective was to understand how the country’s political and social trajectory has been portrayed by Brazilian artists since the nineteenth century to the present, through humor. To achieve this goal, documentary research and content and context analysis were carried out, as well as the division into five major periods of the country’s history and the production of comics.
