Abstract

TURNES, Cecilia. Moda y Vestuario: universos paralelos con infinitas posibilidades de encuentro. Cuad. Cent. Estud. Diseñ. Comun., Ensayos [online]. 2021, n.100, pp.138-148.  Epub Jan 05, 2021. ISSN 1853-3523.  http://dx.doi.org/10.18682/cdc.vi100.3992.

This article seeks to propose agreement and disagreement points between fashion design and costume design. While both disciplines have garment as a point of contact, as a communicative and expressive tool, both aim at different objectives. Transiting the teaching experience and with the instruction of introducing clothing students to the world of theatrical costumes, we can see the explicit need to exercise the link between both universes. Then, the basic differences among themselves are exposed, but, far from distancing, they enable the underlying possibility of relying on each other to nourish and make new universes and creative languages possible.

Keywords : costume; fashion; sign; clothing; dress; lenguaje; cinema; theater; subject; spectator..
